This is an interesting tidbit of knowledge about what security tokens are used when you spawn a thread. Mr. Levy passed this on to me and I just wanted to post it so I can remember it (and find) in the future. :)
The Lance Thrower by Jack Whyte is the sixth book in the Camulod Chronicles. This series is a version of the King Arthur story, but so far Arthur hasn’t been the main character in any of the books. It takes a “historical” viewpoint of the story where Whyte attempts to tell the story as it could have been. Thus, there is very little magic behind Merlyn (his spelling), and the pulling of the sword from the stone was all a deceptive trick to bring a sense of awe about to the people of Britain.
So, Microsoft announced that Vista will be delayed for home users till Jan. 2007. I guess I’m not all that suprised. The real question in my mind is does this do anything to the timeline for WinFx and WF? What about the corporate version of Vista (equivalent to Windows XP Pro) that will be released in November? Will that version also contain the bits that are the equivalent to MCE? I guess I’ll have to do some blog/web digging for the answers.
