Chris Rizzuto will be the presenter at next week’s CINNUG meeting. He’ll be covering DEAP (Delegates, Events and Asynchronous Processing) in ASP.Net. Sounds like a good one. Hopefully I’ll be able to make it (BUT, that just also happens to my wife’s due date so, sorry, new munchkin trumps geek gatherings).
Microsoft is going to have an Architect Certification (Microsoft Certified Architect Program). This is not just a series of tests you go take, but may include papers that you have to write, presentations you have to give and a peer review board. They are saying that the level of effort and expertise you have to have to obtain this certification would be on par with the Cisco CCIE. I think this level of certification has been missing and this will be a welcome addition.
I stumbled upon a site much like IMDB, but for books: the Internet Book List. It seems to have a decent collection of titles, authors and series in it. Pretty handy if you want to see the list of books an author did in a given series, etc.
