Quick Update

The first part of the keynote for today is over and the second part is focusing on the Enterprise Content Managment of the new Office platform. I just thought I would throw out a few gems from the first part of the keynote: All the PDC attendees are getting a free copy of SQL Server 2005 shipped to them when it is released. Microsoft “Expression” is a new suite of products being released to help enable designers and developers work more closely.

Day One Wrap up

Like I said, it was a long day. I had planned on going to a Infragistics demo and then another BOF session on writing secure code. What I ended up doing was meeting up with my old manager from International Paper and going to eat the Hard Rock and walking around at Hollywood and Highland, which is near the Chinese Theatre and such. Turned out to be a pretty good time and some time away from the convention center.

Breakout Session: A Lap around Avalon

Well, due to my tablet side session I got to this session pretty late. It was PACKED. I stood for some time until I saw someone leave, then took a seat. This session was much like the Lap around Indigo session in that it was providing a foundation of the basic principles of the Presentation Framework that could be expanded upon by the rest of the sessions. To be honest I didn’t follow much of what was going on in the session.
