Well since my last post on this I have made some progress. Apparently the automatic update system had put me in some sort of wait mode until it decided it could download the update. My tablet was connected to the internet ALL day yesterday and it started downloading the SP sometime after 3:00 PM. By 3:50 (when I had to leave to go to pick up my car from the shop) it has only gotten to 26%.
Microsoft has released Windows XP SP2. It is on the MSDN download for Universal subscribers now (so I hear, I don’t have access to this anymore). It is being released on the newer version of Windows Update (V5) which the people who ran the Release Candidate of the SP are on. It will be released to the other Windows Update site soon. Since I run the SP2 RC right now I got the “You have updates to download” message from Automatic Updates.
They have released the Tablet SDK 1.7. This is to coincide with the XP SP2 that is being released and give you access to all the new neat things that SP2 is providing for the tablets. XP SP2 should be showing up in the automatic updates over the next week or so (faster for people already running the RC2 of the SP).
