Book Review: Altered Carbon

I heard about Altered Carbon on NPR when they had a librarian talking about good books to read. This one sounded pretty interesting, so I picked it up off Amazon. The book is written by Richard Morgan. Altered Carbon is Morgan’s first novel, and he has another one out with the same main character called Broken Angels. The book is set far in the future and the colonization of space is well underway.

Back to IE

Well, I have uninstalled FireFox and gone back to IE. FireFox did function quite well as my browser, but I found I was still switching back to IE do work on specific sites or to go to Office Update, etc. Also, IE seems to start up MUCH quicker than FireFox did. The only think I’ll miss is the tabbed browsing, but it’s not too difficult to hit Alt-Tab. I think I’ll agree with Nino and stick to IE.

There's a new group in town.... .Net group that is

James Avery is getting a new .Net Users group going in Cincinnati. The group will be primarily focused on .Net (across all platforms) and will have more advanced topics than the previous .Net users group (or what used to be the VB User’s group). The new group is not the old group with new management, and as far as I know the old group hasn’t disbanded. You can check out the new group’s website (though it is still under works) at http://www.
