I’m looking into getting a digital camcorder. Does anyone have any ideas on brands, types, etc.? In my readings on different options I believe I have the following things I’m looking for:
Mini-DV format Must have removable batteries for easy switching. Top loading would be nice, but not a necessity. Both LCD and viewfinder. Firewire connection is a BIG plus, but USB 2.0 would be okay. Ability to act as a “bridge“ from other audio/video sources into the computer would be great (aka, have audio/video in ports).
Well, I ended up reinstalling the Media Center Edition OS this weekend in hopes that I could figure out why the extender won’t work. For a short time the extender did work, but then I installed the MCE rollup 1 from Microsoft and suddenly Live TV stopped working…..you can’t remove the rollup and I don’t see it being a wise decision to NOT have the rollup installed. So, for now I’m not sure what to do about it.
Johnny Carson died yesterday at the age of 79. I remember growing up with my parents watching Johnny after the news on some nights. It wasn’t that it was all the time, but a few nights a week. Sometimes, usually on Friday’s, we were allowed to stay up and watch it too. When Jay Leno took over it just wasn’t the same. Johnny definately rates on the Cool Dead People list.
