I recently rebuilt my tablet and one of the things that I had forgotten about was the manufacturer’s link on the start menu. The link is named “Using Your Motion” and brings up a tour of the Motion tablet. It’s listed on the right side of the menu under the My Computer, etc. icons. I remembered not having it on my start menu prior to my rebuild, so I must have gotten rid of it before.
Have you heard of Mobile Net Switch? If you haven’t and you find yourself traveling a lot with your laptop, constantly jumping on different networks (as a lot of consultants do), then you have to take a look at this utility. The utility allows you define a profile for each network you attach to. This allows you to make settings that are specific to that network and easily switch back and forth between profiles.
As I stated earlier I have setup a VPC image on my tablet. I’ve been working on getting a base VPC image of Windows XP Pro SP2 that I can copy off to my desktop. Then whenever I want to spin up a new VPC image for development, test, or a beta product I can just copy this virtual hard drive file over, attach it to a new VPC profile and start there.
